The structural engineering division at the University of Moratuwa is at the forefront of innovative research. Some of our focus areas include structural optimization for enhanced performance, enhancing impact resistance of structures, effects of fire and thermal effects on structures, rehabilitation of aging structures with Carbon Fiber reinforced polymers, Structural health monitoring, performance assessments with locally designed and manufactured censors, wind engineering and earthquake engineering, tall buildings, and long span bridges, etc.
