The Spaghetti Bridge Competition, organized by the Civil Engineering Society was held on the 28th of October at the Civil Engineering Department where our undergraduates were able to showcase their talents and creativity. This annual event has become a platform for Civil Engineering undergraduates to put their engineering skills to the test.
A team of experienced judges, including Dr. Kanishka Chandrathilaka, Dr. Lakshitha Fernando and distinguished faculty members, carefully evaluated each bridge for its strength, design and the aesthetics. After a fierce competition where the participants displayed a great deal of enthusiasm and dedication, it was Team ‘Tipsy Bridge Benders’ that won the first place at the end. Their bridge exhibited exceptional structural integrity and innovative design. Second and third places were secured by Team ‘Namak Ne,’ and Team ‘Mission Possible’ respectively, whose bridges were both sturdy and visually appealing.
This competition encouraged the spirit of collaboration and innovation among all the civil engineering undergraduates. Here, we were glad that we were able to witness the potential and talent of the young engineers in the making. That being so the Civil Engineering Society, along with the participants and judges, were able to successfully conclude Spaghetti Bridge Competition, 2023.
